FAQ

The list below will give you further information about Crehaytions cake toppers and includes common questions.  If you have any additional queries please contact me.

How soon before the occasion should I order my cake topper?

I often find myself booked up quite far in advance, so as much notice as possible is best - to avoid disappointment.

When will my topper arrive?

As each topper is individually handmade, it can take up to 3 weeks to create your design.  For bookings made in advance, I aim to get your topper to you 2 weeks before the date of the event.  If you require it sooner please let me know.  I always try to accommodate last minute bookings and will advise of a realistic time frame.  I will contact you when the topper is finished and advise of dispatch.

Do you provide the cake?

We do not supply wedding cakes.  However, several high street shops sell plain, iced cakes of various sizes at a fraction of the cost of a bespoke wedding or celebration cake.  Therefore, by adding a Crehaytions topper to one of these retail cakes - you have a reasonably priced, yet highly personal cake.

Is the topper safe to use on the cake?

Fimo polymer clay is 100% non-toxic and conforms to the European Standard EN 71 part 5 and bears the ACMI-Seal AP "non-toxic".  As a trained Caterer, I have passed various Food Hygiene exams. Although the toppers are non-edible, I follow strict food hygiene practices so that the topper can come into contact with your cake safely.

How do I assemble the topper?

The topper will arrive ready to place directly onto the cake and, depending on your chosen design, is usually fixed to a 5" flat, circular base.  This means the figure can simply sit securely on top of the cake.

Will the figure on the topper look just like me?

Models are made to resemble your general appearance - e.g. hair, outfit, height etc.  Other personal props can also be added to reflect your character.  While every effort is made to meet your specifications, please be aware that the final design will be a representation, but not necessarily an identical image of a person.
